President of the Asian Chess Confederation (ACC) Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Shakhboot Al Nahyan, also the President of Al Ain Culture and Chess Club (ACCC), opened yesterday the competition of the first ever Asian Chess Champions League at the indoor stadium of the Al Ain Sports Club. The official opening of the new continental competition means a big leap towards improving the standards of the game in Asia and comes within the new vision of Shaikh Sultan and the members of the ACC to achieve progress for the Game of Kings at a time in which the Asian continent can boast of its international achievements in chess in both the men and women world championships.

Long before the start of the Competition, a friendly and joyful atmosphere could be noticed: players and officials happy to meet again and to greet each other, pleased to exchange views, remembering past Events they experienced, moving tired less around the hall.
