1. Report of the President
The Assembly received the report of ACF President Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifah Al Nahyan. 2. Treasurer’s Report
The Assembly received the report of ACF Treasurer Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh. 3. Proposed Amendments to Statutes
The Assembly approved the revised Statutes as published on the Asian web site.
B. Affiliations and Exclusions
4. Bhutan Chess Federation
The Assembly noted that the Bhutan Chess Federation has been admitted to FIDE as an Associate Member, awaiting full membership.
5. All India Chess Federation The Assembly supported the request of India to be a single federation zone. Without affecting the total number of places for Asia in the World Cup, or the number of Asian Zone Presidents in FIDE, the Continental Assembly created sub-zones, 3.2 with India and sub-zone 3.2(A) for the other federations, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 6. Revision of CACDEC Levels
The Assembly noted that Vietnam has been graduated from CACDEC.
7. Asian federations were invited to submit their nominees for a selection list of Arbiters in Asian events, with each Arbiter’s chess bio data.
D. Tournaments and Matches
8. Tournament calendar for 2009 and 2010
The Assembly was informed of the scheduling of events by FIDE Calendar Administrator, FIDE General Secretary Ignatius Leong.
9. Tournament Bidding Procedure
Priority has been given to bids for Men’s and Women’s events to be organized jointly. The Assembly approved Asian Secretary General Hisham Al Taher’s proposal to give priority to bids from different federations in order to spread chess development around Asia. Bidders may announce their preference.
9.1 The Assembly approved Deputy President C. Abundo’s proposal that the Asian Continental Championship be held yearly with qualifying places apportioned equally, i.e. half the qualifying places per year.
9.2 Bidding for 2011 events was opened at the Continental Meeting and the Assembly approved the tournament bids according to the following calendar. The Continental Assembly decided to create new events, the Asian Seniors, Asian Amateur Championships and West Asian Youth Championship.
