| The National Chess Federation of the Philippines, on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, invites Asian National Chess Federations to participate in the 8th Asian Continental / Individual Open and Women's Championships from 12th to 24th May 2009 at the Subic Exhibition and Convention Center in Subic Bay, Freeport Zone, Olongapo City, Philippines with total prizes of $50,000 for the Open and $15,000 for the Women's. Asian Women`s Championship 2007 (Tahran - Iran) |
2-12 September in IranThe Chess Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran shall host the Asian Women`s Championship on behalf of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE from 2 to 12 September 2007 in Tehran. Top seed Ruan, Lufei (2433) of China heads a record cast of 32 players. At stake in the 9-round Swiss system are $10,000 in cash prizes and three slots in the Women`s World Cup. 15 th Asian Cities Championship 2007 (Tahran - Iran) |
Tehran, 1st-9th March 2007 The Pavlodar (KAZ) team won the Asian Cities Team Championship for the Dubai Cup organized by the Iranian Chess Federation from 1 to 8 March 2007 in Tehran, Iran. Eighteen teams from 12 countries competed in the 9-round Swiss. Pavlodar scored 30 points followed by runner-up Tagaytay (PHI) with 26 and Tehran Saipa with 25 points for third. Individual News: Individual Competition Murtas Kazhgaleyev of Kazakhstan and Koneru Humpy of India won the Men`s and Women`s Rapid Chess Competition, respectively, in the Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Kazhgaleyev won the gold with 7.5 points, followed by Dao Thien Hai of Vietnam with silver and Bu Xiangzhi of China with bronze. Konery Humpy of India convincingly won the Women`s competition alone with 8 points followed by Zhao Xue of China with 7.5 for silver and Zhu Chen of Qatar with 6 for the bronze. |
