Third Asian Chess School Championship 2007
Third Asian Chess School Championship 2007

Kandy, Sri Lanka ; 3 - 10 January 2008

 

108 players include 56 Boys and 56 Girls from 5 Asian Coutries : Syria, Iran, UAE, India and Sri Lanka compete in 10 Categories Boys and Girls Under 7, 9 , 11, 13 & 15 in the 3rd Asian School Chess Championship that held in Hotel Tourmaline Kandy, Sri Lanka from 3 - 10 January 2008. Sri Lanka Chess Federation nominate I.A. Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh as Chief Arbiter and President of Asian Chess Federation Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nehayan  as Chief Arbiter of the event. Tournament director Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya and Sri Lanka Chess Federation for first time did a great job by hosting 1 Player in each category.

9th Round in WYCC
2007 WORLD YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

 

After the ninth round, there are still groups where the top places are far from clear and in those groups it seems that the contest for the title is going to be very tough. The only player still to lead with perfet score ise Efroimski of Israel in Under 12 Girls.

Round 8 of WYCC
2007 WORLD YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

After Round 8 of the World Youth Chess Championship, Efroimski of Israel in Under 12 Girls is the only player with the perfect score. Unde 18, GM Popov won again to preserve his lead in the oldest age group of the event while local hero WIM Yıldız won her second consecutive game against WIM Gomes from India to leap to the shared second place.
