Record of 428 Players in Asian Youth |
|
The Asian Youth Champiionships are being held for the first time in Beijing, China. A record number of 428 chess players from 20 Asian countries are seeing action in the Under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16 an 18 age groups for boys and girls, and two categories of Challengers Championships. The large delegations are from India with 56 players, China 44, Vietnam 34, Iran 33 and Mongalia 29. Here is view of playing hall in the Convention Center, same venue of last year's World Mind Sports Games.

In accordance with Statutes of the Asian Chess Federation, nominations for four FIDE Executive Board representatives of Asia were received by 28th June from (in country alphabetical order), and copied to FIDE Secretariat:
1. Chinese Chess Association for Mr. Ye Jiangchuan; 2. All India Chess Federation for Mr. D. V. Sundar, FIDE Delegate; 3. Iraq Chess Federation for Mr. Dhafer Abdul Ameer Madhloom, President and Delegate; 4. Kazakhstan Chess Federation for Mr. Bolat Asanov, FIDE Delegate; 5. Mongolian Chess Federation for Mr. Suuri Enkhtsag, President; 6. Nepal Chess Association for Mr. Rajesh Hari Joshi, President and Delegate; 7. UAE Chess Federation for Mr. Hisham Al Taher, FIDE Delegate; and 8. Vietnam Chess Federation for Mr. Dang Tat Thang, FIDE Delegate. Elections will be held at the Asian Chess Federation Assembly during the FIDE Congress in Khanti Mansiysk, Russia. |
